About Dagg

Dagg is a GPS running app for iPhone and Apple Watch, made by Vitgranen AB in Sweden and released on the App Store in July 2026. Most running apps are built around performance and social features. Dagg is built around the run itself.

What Dagg is

A run tracker and training coach with no feed and no followers. It records your run with GPS, draws the route back as a bare shape rather than a map, speaks coaching cues aloud when they help, and lets you race ghosts of your own previous runs on the same route. It works on iPhone, and on Apple Watch as a standalone app that records runs without the phone.

Everything about it is a subtraction from what running apps usually are. There is no feed, no profile, no follower count, no kudos, no leaderboard, no streak and no badge. Nothing you run is ever made public, and there is no setting that would let it be.

Why Dagg exists

Running used to be simple. Somewhere along the way it became about streaks, segments, followers, and weekly summaries. Dagg is an attempt to return to what running felt like before all of that. Just you and the road.

The longer argument is in the manifesto.

The name

“Dagg” is the Swedish word for dew. The quiet formation that appears before the world wakes. It felt right for an app about early mornings and solitude. It is pronounced roughly like “dag”, with a hard g.

What it costs

Run tracking is free and complete. Not a trial, not a stripped-down tier: GPS tracking, the Apple Watch app, audio coaching, ghosts, splits, elevation, Apple Health and GPX export all cost nothing and need no account.

Dagg Pro, the optional coaching subscription, is $5.99 a month with a one week free trial, billed through Apple. It builds a week-by-week training plan toward a goal race and re-fits it after every run. It runs on real servers, and the subscription pays for that and nothing more. There is a full walkthrough of how the coach builds your plan, and a free plan builder on this site that needs no app at all.

Where your data lives

On your phone. Every route is stored on the device, and cloud sync stays off until you turn it on yourself. Run tracking requires no account and sends nothing anywhere. Dagg Pro adds an account through Sign in with Apple, and sends your goal and a summary of recent runs (never your GPS coordinates, never anything from Apple Health) so the plan can be built. The privacy policy spells out exactly what leaves the device and when.

What Dagg is not

No social network. No gamification engine. No cycling, swimming or multi-sport tracking. No Garmin, Coros or Polar support. No Android version. It records your run, draws the shape of your route, and gets out of the way. If you want to know whether that trade suits you, there is an honest comparison with Strava, Runna and Nike Run Club, including the cases where you should pick one of them instead.

Built in Sweden

Dagg is made by Vitgranen AB, a small company in Sweden. It is not venture funded, has no growth team, and sells nothing but the subscription.
