Privacy Policy
Effective 7 July 2026
Your runs stay on your devices. A run recorded on your Apple Watch moves to your iPhone over Apple's own device-to-device connection, not through any server. If you turn on AI Coaching, you sign in with Apple and we store an account plus your subscription status, and your goal and a summary of your recent runs are sent to our coaching service to build your plan. If the app crashes, an anonymous crash report is sent so we can fix the bug. That is the whole of it.
Who we are
Dagg is made by Vitgranen AB, a company registered in Sweden. If you have questions about this policy or your data, reach us at support@vitgranen.com.
What the website collects
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Umami Cloud to understand how people use the site. Both collect anonymized page views. No cookies are set. No personal data is stored.
External services
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when requesting font files. We also load analytics scripts from Umami Cloud (cloud.umami.is).
What the app collects
Location data
Dagg uses GPS to record your running route, including in the background while a run is active. The Dagg app on Apple Watch uses the watch's GPS the same way when you record a run from the watch. This data is stored locally on your devices. It is never sent to our servers or any third party.
Run data
Distance, duration, pace, and route coordinates are all stored on your device. A run recorded on your Apple Watch transfers to your iPhone over Apple's Watch Connectivity, directly between your devices. There is no cloud sync and no server-side storage.
Apple Health
On iPhone: if you turn it on, Dagg writes your completed runs to Apple Health as workouts, including the route. This is off by default and requires your explicit permission. The iPhone app only writes to Apple Health and never reads any Health data.
On Apple Watch: recording a run on the watch runs as an Apple Health workout session. With your permission, the watch app saves the workout to Apple Health, including the route and the heart rate and calorie data the watch measured (so the run counts toward your Activity rings), and reads your heart rate during the run solely to show it to you live on the watch. Dagg keeps none of this outside Apple Health and never sends any Health data anywhere; it stays on your devices under Apple's control.
You can revoke Health access at any time in the iOS Health app or in Settings, on either device.
Voice coaching
Dagg provides voice coaching during runs using text-to-speech. All speech is generated on your device using the built-in iOS speech engine. No audio or text is sent to any server.
App updates
Dagg may check for over-the-air updates via Expo's update service. This involves your device contacting Expo's servers, which may receive your IP address and basic device information (platform, app version). No personal data or run data is transmitted.
Crash reporting
The app uses Sentry to collect crash reports and basic performance diagnostics, such as app start time, so we can find and fix bugs. A report contains technical information about the error together with your device model, iOS version, and app version. Crash reports are not linked to your account or identity, are never used for tracking or advertising, and are processed in Sentry's EU data region.
Analytics
Beyond the crash reporting described above, the Dagg app does not include any analytics or tracking services. No usage data leaves your device.
Accounts (optional, for AI Coaching)
The core app needs no account. AI Coaching, an optional paid feature, requires you to sign in with Apple. We receive a stable user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. This is stored in Supabase (hosted in the EU) and used only to tie your subscription to you and to generate your training plans. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, which removes your account and subscription record from our servers.
AI Coaching (training plans)
When you create or update a training plan, the app sends your goal (target distance, time, date, runs per week, and current pace) and a summary of your recent runs (distances, durations, paces, and your effort ratings) to our coaching service running on Supabase, which calls Anthropic’s Claude API to generate the plan. We do not send your raw GPS coordinates or routes, or your name. Anthropic processes this only to return your plan and does not use it to train its models. Your goals and plans are stored on your device.
Subscriptions
AI Coaching is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple. Apple handles payment, and we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to validate the purchase and store your entitlement status (active or trial, product, and renewal or expiry date) against your account so the app knows whether the feature is unlocked.
Cookies
The Dagg website does not set any cookies. Third-party services loaded on the site (Google Fonts, Vercel Analytics, Umami Cloud) do not set cookies either. For details, see their respective privacy policies linked in the table below.
